Hi, I’m Daniel!
I’m a PhD student at UW-Madison working with Yuhang Zhao studying HCI here in the madAbility lab. Generally, my research interests include human-computer interaction (HCI), extended reality (AR/VR/MR/XR), immersive video (livestreams, 360° cameras, projection mapping), accessibility, esports, education, and healthcare. More specifically, I’m looking to research & develop novel methods to make extended reality platforms more accessible to people with disabilities.
I have TA’d for CS 559: Computer Graphics with Eftychios Sifakis and Young Wu. I achieved my BS in CS from UT, alongside certifications in Digital Arts & Media and immersive tech, where I worked with Amy Pavel on live video accessibility for screenreader users and Erin Reilly on AR for young adult skin cancer prevention.
Outside of work, I track all the music I listen to on last.fm. I also enjoy longboarding, cooking, backpacking, watching YouTube videos, language learning, achievement hunting, and moderating online communities.
Please see my website for more information about my work!
